He will suddenly appear, with no warning other than static, and move straight at you. With Slender: The Eight Pages, there is basically no AI to abuse. While games such as Amnesia: The Dark Descent played with the idea of not being able to attack the monster or defend yourself in any way, there was still constant forward momentum and ways to abuse the enemy's AI. Before it came out, the concept of simply being trapped in an area and trying to achieve some kind of objective without being able to defend yourself in any way was noted as being completely original at the time. It also brought into existence a whole new genre of horror games. It is easily one of the most well known horror creatures out there now because of it. A ton of popular YouTubers decided to play it on their channel and so millions upon millions of people now know about Slender Man. The game was another big part in the popularity of Slender Man. You can try it out right here with our Slender download for PC. With that fame comes a ton of ton of different media, and one of them is Slender: the Eight Pages. It is now one of the most recognizable names on the internet, to the point where even if people don't know about the details of the mythos, they'd have heard of the name. This is in part due to the fantastic Marble Hornets series, which featured the Slender Man, defined much of its mythos, and put it into the public eye. While its source, the paranormal board on 4chan, has spawned a ton of other creepy crawlies, none have taken off like Slender Man has. Slender Man is one of the best examples of the modern internet horror myth, the equivalent of the traditional boogie man or Loch Ness monster.
